The Gardens of Wlilkes Community College

Offering one of the most beautifully diverse botanical gardens in the state, the campus of Wilkes Community College is a virtual kaleidoscope of color each season. The Eddy Merle Watson Garden of the Senses features Braille-labeled plants for the enjoyment of the visually-impaired, as well as gorgeous sculptured music and alphabet walls.

The Vernon and Louise Deal Native Gardens features a one mile walking trail, fully accessible whether you are nine months or ninety-three. The Ruth Colvard Rose Garden alone is enough to impress even the most discriminating Jackson and Perkins® rose enthusiast. Other feature include the Sara Mills Japanese Garden, a children’s playground, picnicking areas and a duck pond.
